OXYGEN-OZONE THERAPY FOR HERNIA
Oxygen-ozone therapy is a medical treatment that involves the use of medical ozone combined with oxygen in a safe and controlled way for the treatment of numerous pathologies. In fact, ozone, used in minimal quantities, stimulates an antioxidant reaction in the body in opposition to its oxidizing power. In fact, it has demonstrated wide fields of applicability for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

Oxygen-ozone therapy for the treatment of hernia
Oxygen-ozone therapy for the treatment of hernia is a well-established method, studied for decades and whose usefulness is witnessed by a strong medical literature. The combination of oxygen and ozone triggers immunomodulation processes and anti-inflammatory reactions, simultaneously improving tissue oxygenation. The oxidizing action of ozone on the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc leads to its dehydration and, consequently, reduces its volume, attenuating the pressure on the disc tissue: it is the compression of the nerve generated by the laceration of the spinal disc, in fact, that causes pain and inflammation.
Treatment with oxygen-ozone therapy has great advantages compared to a surgical intervention and appears to be more effective than conservative interventions. Compared to the surgical alternative, it’s less invasive and more economical. Oxygen-ozone therapy does not require post-operative measures, consequently also eliminating recovery times and the convalescence period.
How oxygen-ozone therapy for hernia works
The method of administration of oxygen-ozone therapy for the treatment of hernia usually consists of paravertebral, intraforaminal or intradiscal injections with a spinal-type needle that can reach the area inflamed. The therapy has a short duration, about half an hour per session, and it doesn’t require any preparation or particular post-treatment measures, other than to avoid physical effort. Oxygen-ozone therapy for hernia is not painful: the only discomfort may be the penetration of the needle into the skin.
Although the usefulness and safety of the treatment are widely documented, oxygen-ozone therapy in some cases can be contraindicated: it should be avoided in cases of pregnancy, haemolytic anemia, favism, hyperthyroidism, serious coagulation problems and cardiovascular pathologies.
How many sessions are necessary?
The frequency of oxygen-ozone therapy sessions must be outlined by the doctor, who will evaluate the patient's needs and the type of administration. We can generalize describing an initial phase of close injections – a couple of times a week for the first two weeks – until there is a clinical improvement in symptoms. Afterwards, the administrations can be reduced to a single weekly solution for the following 4/6 weeks. Oxygen-ozone therapy for hernia begins to show effect after the first interventions. In a couple of weeks there is an improvement in the patient's general condition.
How much does an oxygen-ozone therapy treatment cost
Although the cost of oxygen-ozone therapy to treat a hernia depends on some variables - which include, for example, the number of sessions necessary -, the cost per session is generally between 70 and 90 Euros.
In the Italian panorama, at the moment, only the Lombardy region has decided to make the treatment loanable, placing it at the expense of the healthcare system. Like any medical treatment, however, it is possible to include the therapy in the tax return as a deductible expense.

OXYGEN THERAPY IN MENOPAUSE: BREATHING NEW LIFE
Menopause is a particularly delicate moment for women as it marks the entry into a new phase of life. The disorders that came from it must be treated starting from the research of a general well-being, to support the body through the changes that it will have to face. Oxygen therapy acts as a cellular reinvigoration which can alleviate some of the typical symptoms of menopause while simultaneously providing energy to the entire organism.
OXYGEN-OZONE THERAPY FOR NECK PAIN
Neck pain related to the cervical area is very common, attributable to trauma, arthritis or hernias. The solution is not always easy. Although sporadic discomfort can be managed with non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, oxygen-ozone therapy has proven to be particularly effective for the treatment of chronic pain.
OXYGEN-OZONE THERAPY FOR BACK PAIN
Back pain, especially related to the lumbar area, is one of the most common disorders, often - but not always - caused by pathologies affecting the spine. Oxygen-ozone therapy has proven to be very useful in the treatment of lumbago and back pain, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving ability.
